The International Islamic Council of Justice (IICJ) is the highest and most senior Shariah Council in the UK. IICJ was established to represent and provide services to over 4 million Muslims and over 3000 mosques, Islamic Councils, charities and organisations. Some of our services are even available to the 25 million Muslims in the EU and over 2 billion Muslims worldwide.
Our team consists of British Muftis and Islamic Judges (Qadhis) who are multilingual and multicultural. They are friendly, professional and vastly experienced, having adjudicated over innumerable cases. They were raised in the UK but have studied extensively throughout the world. As a result, they are adept at dealing with people from all walks of life and cultural backgrounds, thus they operate with a deep understanding and sensitivity with respect to the needs of each individual, be you from the UK or abroad.
We offer an array of services for the benefit of the Ummah and the community at large. For further details, please visit our services page.
Our headquarters is located in Birmingham City Centre but we also have offices in London, Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool, Uxbridge, Slough, Bristol, Glasgow and Aberdeen.
IICJ functions fully within the remit of English Law. Our verdicts are all in accordance to the Quran and Sunnah, and are given predominantly in accordance to Hanafi Fiqh. However, Shafi’, Maliki and Hanbali verdicts can be arranged too.
All members of IICJ adhere to the path of the Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jama’ah (Maturidi & Ashari Creed) and follow the correct and authentic path of Tasawwuf (Islamic spirituality).
